How to Start Your Own Business
This two-hour informational seminar covers the basic requirements of starting your own business including legal structure, startup requirements, finding financing, and business planning basics. A $15 materials fee is charged to cover the cost of a business startup kit, which includes a newly updated Business Plan Workbook, a Business Startup Checklist, and a copy of the presentation slides. Also be sure checkout some of our additional classes, such as "Finding Financing" which immediately follow selected How to Start Your Own Business sessions.

Finding Financing
At some point in your business you will need to find some money, whether at business startup or for expansion. This workshop explains the different types of financing and details the work involved in securing those dollars. This FREE seminar will cover the best options to follow in order to find financing for your business in the southern Illinois region and in your specific industry. "Finding Financing" is co-sponsored by the Southern Illinois Entrepreneurship Center.

This informational seminar covers the different types of social networking websites that are available as well as the benefits of incorporating social networking into a business's marketing plan. There is a $25 fee for this seminar.

Our QuickBooks training is appropriate for beginners through intermediate users. This program is intended to introduce or broaden and deepen your knowledge of QuickBooks Pro 10.0. Offered in 5 separate modules for ease of customizing instruction to meet your specific needs, you may easily choose the combination of modules which best fits your needs. Wanting to become proficient in QuickBooks on all levels? Register to attend all 5 sessions! Workshop materials are included in the registration fee: $55 for each module.
Module #1 - Setup
Setup a new company, company preferences, lists, chart of accounts,
and bank accounts.

Receive and add inventory, setup items for sale, and create invoices
and statements.

How to Sell on eBay
This two-day, information-packed workshop will teach participants how to utilize eBay as an avenue for selling new and used products or services, including setting up an eBay account and best practices for posting items for sale. Whether you intend to sell on a part-time or full-time basis, this workshop covers all the essential information one needs to make money with eBay.
